Common Courtesy: Selections from the Cooper Etiquette Collection

This exhibit features a selection from the Diana Starr Cooper Etiquette Collection in Special Collections, spanning 1859-1895. The Cooper Collection contains over 100 works of etiquette, the customary code of polite behavior in society, that date from the 19th century to the early 20th century. These books are related to social etiquette, guides to womanly and gentlemanly behavior, guides to living life, health and hygiene, home economics, and child rearing.
