Battle of Saratoga (1777)
While rich in history for many things, Saratoga is most famous for the Battle of Saratoga during the American Revolution. Taking place from September 19th to October 7th in a series of engagements that led to the surrender of the British Army on October 17th, 1777. It was called "The Turning Point of the War" as the victory convinced France to ally with the United States, providing substantial support against the British. The battle will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2027.
